Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has predicted heavy rainfall in nearly every district until June 5, with isolated thunderstorms and lightning. NSDMA joint CEO Dr. Johnny Ruangmei informed that light to moderate rainfall was likely at most places on May 29 with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kohima, Kiphire, Tuensang, Phek and Mon. NSDMA further informed that squally wind speed reaching 40-50Kmph gusting to 60Kmph was very likely to prevail over many districts. It stated that all districts were expected to see heavy rainfall from May 29-31 with Kohima, Phek and Tseminyu districts receiving exceptionally heavy rain from June 2-5, while other districts could see extremely heavy rain from June 1- 5.
