DIMAPUR, OCT 2 (NPN): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, with isolated to scattered rainfall likely over the region from October 3 to 8.
IMD also forecast isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during October 3.
Across the Northeast, isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during October 3-8.
Isolated thunderstorms and lightning are likely Assam and Meghalaya during October 3 and isolated heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh during October 3-4. According to IMD, East and Northeast India recorded their lowest monsoon rainfall since 1901, with a 26% shortfall compared to the long-period average (LPA).
