Ralan Area Lotha Hoho (RALH) has written to the SDO (Civil) Ralan cum border magistrate, C sector Uriamghat to initiate immediate corrective and preventive measures on issues of wrong information published in Assam and information they received about issues to possibly arise soon at the border.
In an application signed by RALH chairman, Hayithung Kikon and general secretary, C. S Ovung, they called attention to the recent press statement in the Assam Sentinel on November 22, where it had published the name ‘Hoki village’ as falling under Wokha district.
RALH asserted that no such village exists under Wokha. The publication had also alleged that the Nagas have been harassing the non-locals in areas such as L. Chekayan (Chainpur 1 & 2), New Chandalashung (Kamalpur, Rajapukhuri and Roman Basti) and Jandalashung B (Chetiagaon); the RALH called these non-founded allegations.
Also, RALH informed the SDO that they had received information from reliable sources that a certain group of non-locals were planning to forcibly erect a boundary stone, pillars/flag in the DAB within the next few days.
They asked the SDO to verify the matter and take immediate corrective actions and preventive measures in the interest of the Lothas/Nagas as a whole.
