On being affiliated to Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Rongmei Baptist Church Association Nagaland (RBCAN) organised a thanksgiving programme at Mission Center, Jalukie Town, Saturday.
A press release by RBCAN informed that the celebration began with a traditional way of making fire which was torched by NBCC president, Rev. Dr. Atsi Dolie and RBCAN president, Rev. Namrong Pamei, marking a new beginning for the ministry and mission ahead.
Welcoming the dignitaries and the congregation, Rev. Namrong Pamei express joy that it was the Lord’s doing that RBCAN has been affiliated to NBCC after a long period of time.
RBCAN executive secretary, Rev. Mathiuthai Gonmei expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of NBCC, the executive members and the member associations for the support and prayers during the process for affiliation. Rev. Gonmei also highlighted the history of the process for affiliation that has initiated in 1992 and how it has come thus far. He also acknowledged the endorsement by Zeme Council and Rongmei Council Peren and the Old Jalukie Village Council and Jalukie Pumling.
Speaking on the occasion, NBCC general secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho while welcoming RBCAN to NBCC family, reminded that the purpose of a local church or a fellowship of believers was to serve the world. He also expressed that God has made everything good and beautiful in its time of which the story of RBCAN wasone.
Exhorting the gathering, Zeme Baptist Church Council president, Rev. Suitei Ndang said the Rongmeis in the past has contributed to the growth of the church especially through singing and elderly leadership. He also expressed that they are impatient during the affiliation process because they have vision for the church, which was a positive note for every church growth.
A thanksgiving prayer and a blessing for the ministry of RBCAN was pronounced by Rev. Dr. Atsi Dolie.
Other highlights of the programme include choral presentation by RBYF choir and women choir from ERBC, and a traditional dance by Chabwan Kamang Club.
