RCB to Keep 11 Seats Empty at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Memory of Stampede Victims

RCB CEO Rajesh Menon announced that 11 seats at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will remain permanently empty to honour the 11 fans who lost their lives in the June 4, 2025 stampede during RCB’s title celebrations. Players will wear jersey No. 11 during practice sessions and don black armbands in matches this season.

Menon added that precautionary measures have been strengthened, and discussions will continue on supporting victims’ families. The Karnataka government had held RCB and partners responsible for the tragedy, with the franchise compensating each family ₹25 lakh.

After nearly a year without hosting RCB games, Chinnaswamy will stage five matches this season, while two home fixtures will be played in Raipur.
