DIMAPUR: District Health Society Wokha, in collaboration with the 17th Assam Rifles Bhandari, organised a Reproductive Child Health (RCH) Camp at Community Health Centre (CHC) Bhandari on September 12.
According to a press release from the CMO Office Wokha, District Tuberculosis Officer, NTEP Wokha, Dr. Abenthung Murry delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of TB screening. He highlighted symptoms such as persistent cough or fever for more than two weeks, weight loss, loss of appetite, blood in sputum, chest pain or breathlessness, and history of contact with TB patients. He urged the public to seek medical treatment if symptoms appear and informed that free treatment is available at designated health facilities in the district.
District Programme Manager (NHM), Mhonbeni Ezung, explained the importance of RCH and its impact on maternal and child health. The release informed that Bhandari Town Council chairman, Khonthungia Odyuo, expressed appreciation to the CMO medical team and the 17th Assam Rifles for providing free health services to the community.
Free services provided during the camp included general OPD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Eye, Dental, ENT, Malaria and HIV screening, TB screening, Chest X ray, CMHIS card generation, and non communicable disease screening. Free medicines and IEC leaflets on JSSK, NCD, HPV and other health topics were also distributed.
