The 23rd installation ceremony of Rotary Club Kohima, RID 3240, was held on July 29 at the conference hall of Kohima Don Bosco College, with past assistant governor Rtn. Dr. Nitin Agarwal as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Agarwal lauded Rotary Club Kohima for its tireless contributions in undertaking various community service projects. He congratulated the newly installed team and urged members to continue their “yeoman service” by working collectively with the community and adhering to club guidelines to achieve greater milestones.
In her acceptance speech, newly installed president Rtn. Kevino Savino described the Rotary Club as more than just an organization, stating that every member carries a mission to serve humanity, in line with the club’s motto, “Service Above Self.” She affirmed that the team would lead with unity, build upon existing initiatives, and introduce new programmes to enhance community impact. During the event, four new members and two honorary members from Don Bosco College were inducted. The club also highlighted its free tailoring unit initiative, which has trained 80 women including mothers, children, and school drop-outs. This year, 16 trainees are enrolled, and certificates were distributed to successful candidates during the ceremony.
