Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, has said the government was ready to provide good road condition in Nagaland, but people needed to cooperate with the government for all round development especially on road communication.
The chief minister, who was here to discuss the proposed diversion of two-lane highway (SARD-NE) Merankong-Tamlu-Mon road alignment at km58 to 63 near Wakching, met and held a series of discussion with Wakching Area Village Councils, Konyak Union and District Administration of Mon at DC Conference Hall, Mon on September 27, 2018.
During the meeting, representatives of Wakching Village Council expressed their resentment over the newly proposed alignment and stated that they had submitted the same to the NHIDCL, through DC Mon on July 9, 2018, and that the same was conveyed to the state government during the meeting convened by the chief secretary on August 28, 2018.
After series of discussion, the chief minister gave one-week time to Wakching Area village councils to make final decision and directed them to submit a written statement to the government.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister also informed that the state government has proposed to ban most of the plastic items from the month of November 2018. In this regard, he urged upon the local entrepreneurs to find alternative ways and means to replace the use of plastic. He also directed the district administration to find and select such entrepreneurs and submit their names to the government.
On ILP, the chief minister urged upon the law enforcing agency to strictly check the Inner Line Permit. He specially urged the house owners to check and verify the documents of any individual before giving the rent.
The chief minister was accompanied by ministers- Pangnyu Phom, Paiwang Konyak, Tongpang Ozukum, advisors- Noke Wangnao, Pohwang Konyak and Bongkhao Konyak; PDA chairman & NDPP president Chingwang Konyak and a host of government officials. The meeting was chaired by DC Mon Thavaseelan K.
