Recognition of 2-LAPOA rejected

Chozuba Range Public Organisation (CRPO) announced dissolution and de-recognition of 2-Lane Aggrieved Property Owners’ Association (2-LAPOA).

In a press note CRPO president Ketipra Lohe and general secretary Ravotso Keyho said the body rejected the application of 2-LAPOA for recognition in consonance with Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) resolution no. 4 of June 29, 2019. It also termed the association as “unauthorised” as it was formed in violation of its resolution.

In the backdrop of criticism of policies and reportedly making unethical, provocative and divisive statements that were circulated through pres statements, social media and public meetings, and following receipt of an application from 2-LAPOA on July 1 2019 seeking registration, CRPO said it held an executive council meeting with all VCCs, head GBs, GBs and frontal bodies on July 22 and rejected the application.

According CRPO, the CPO resolution no. 4 had specified that unauthorised bodies by individuals or groups of individuals having any grievances with the ongoing two-lane road project were not permitted to approach the administrative authorities unless routed through their respective village councils.

CRPO claimed it had invited 2-LAPOA for discussion, and that fervent appeals were made on several occasions to settle any grievance or dispute amicably for the greater interest of general public.

However, it alleged that the association had defied all appeals.

Therefore, CRPO considered 2-LAPOA as anti-people of Chozuba Range having malicious intent to sabotage the ongoing road project, the statement added.

CRPO also strongly warned 2-LAPOA not to represent and speak on behalf of the range people or on behalf of the property owners to any authorities concerned as it was neither mandated nor authorised to represent the people of Chozuba Range. In the event of any fallout arising out of its statements or conduct, 2-LAPOA would he held fully accountable, CRPO warned.

The apex organisation further cautioned 2-LAPOA to desist from making any unethical, provocative statement to avoid any untoward incidents.
