Zunheboto PWD Field Workers’ Association (FWA) has extended support to All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association (ANPWDFWA) to rectify Work Charged (WC) employee details which was wrongly uploaded in the personal information management database.
In a statement, Zunheboto PWD Field Workers’ Association president, Kakiho Sumi and general secretary, Kakuto Aye stated that most of the W/C employees were on the verge of retirement and especially the fixed labourers have been retiring every month.
However, the department has shown no concern on the employees by not releasing the salaries (March 2021- September 2021) of those who had already completed Aadhaar verification and placed under categories while labourers in other category had not received for more than 17 months.
In this regard, the Zunheboto PWD Field Workers’ Association has appealed to the department to release the pending salaries within due course of time.
The association also pointed out that Aadhaar verification of all the work-charged employees under NPWD and has been placed under category wise, where most of the genuine W/C employees were placed under category ‘C’ and ‘D’ and some of the genuine employees details document had not been verified by the department Aadhaar verification committee and placed them under category ‘C’ and ‘D’.
Therefore, the association warned that during the physical verification if any of its genuine employees were terminated, the department shall be held responsible and failing to comply with their demand, it will resort to democratic agitation which may be “aggressive and violent”.
