A two-day refresher training for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) Dimapur was held on March 20 and 21, 2025 at District Hospital Conference Hall, Dimapur.
In a press release, Chief Medical Office, Dimapur, IEC Bureau Section informed that Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, Dr. Temsu Longkumer, appreciated the ASHAs for their selfless dedication to community health and encouraged them to continue their noble work.
On the first day, the resource persons were District Community Mobilizer, Imlilemla Longkumer, and Block ASHA Coordinator, Dimapur Sadar, Tirangsungla Longchari. The ASHAs were reoriented on their roles and responsibilities in various health activities, including Urban Health & Nutrition Days, outreach, and managing common health issues.
They covered topics like infant and child nutrition, adolescent health, RTI/STI, high-risk babies, HBNC/HBYC, maintaining ASHA registers, and Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS). The ASHAs were also trained on ASHA skill sets, the CBAC-NCD form, and surveys, with a demonstration on newborn care.
On the second day, Medical Officer, UPHC Burma Camp, Dr. Chamzai Newmai, and GNM, UPHC Burma Camp, Vilito, reoriented the ASHAs on maternal health, newborn care, the new MCP card, IPC/RIMP, Anemia Mukt Bharat, and deworming.
Group activities and discussions were also carried out. Additionally, ASHAs under Dimapur Sadar joined the NUHM ASHAs for refresher training on Routine Immunization Micro Planning.
