A two-day refresher training for Malaria Technical Supervisors (MTS) was conducted on April 7 and 8, at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW), Kohima. The training was organized by National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), with a total of 74 MTS participating.
A press statement by NVBDCP stated that the training covered key technical and programmatic areas including recording and reporting, IEC/BCC activities, malaria entomology, introduction to malaria and the life cycle of the malaria parasite, as well as case detection using RDT and blood slide examination.
Resource persons for the training included additional senior regional director, Regional Office for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Imphal, Dr. N. I. Singh, technical director, TCIF India, Dr. R. C. Dhiman, assistant director, UVBDS, Kikolul Khieya, PH & training consultant, Imsubenla, IEC/BCC consultant, Marykali Yepthomi, State Lab technician, Ameri Savi, and finance consultant, Ropfweve Kosa.
The release added that the programme commenced with an introductory session and welcome address delivered by joint director and State Programme Officer (SPO), Dr. Imnapokim, and closing remarks and distribution of certificates by joint director, Dr. Tinurenla Anichari.
