Regimental School DEF Wokha organised a colourful and exciting cultural programme under the theme, “My Culture, My Identity”, on November 13 at the school campus with Superintendent of Police Wokha, Aotula T Imchen, as the special guest.
At the programme, students of the school enthralled the gathering with colourful cultural display of folk songs, dances, poems and stories.
Other highlights of the program included folk song by students of class 8-10, poem by Areni Odyuo, story narration by Renbemo Ngullie and traditional attire parade by student from LKG – Class 10. The programme was followed by exhibition of cultural artifacts, attires, Lotha Naga Morung, display of seeds, medicinal plants and indigenous games and interaction of students with the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the special guest stressed on cultural values and importance of preserving the traditional practices and values. “Our culture is our way of life, if we do not preserve, it will decay and die”, noted Imchen.
Additional SP & chairman of the School Managing Board Wokha, Soriso Quinker, exhorted the gathering and spoke on the importance of family and role of parents in this fast-changing world and changing times.
The programme started with invocation by pastor Police Baptist Church, Zuben N. Ngullie and the programme was also attended by chief of Team Metamorphosis, Thungdemo Kyong and his colleagues.
