Rejoinder to NZPO allegation

Refuting Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organisation’s (NZPO) charges that he was the main accused in the Lamhainamdi issue, ‘Brig.’ Phuyekha Achumi termed the allegation as “totally false and unsubstantial which cannot be accepted and justified under any circumstances.”

In a statement, Phuyekha claimed that the issue was known by the state’s law enforcing agency and Sumi Hoho, stressing that it was imperative to serve justice in the interest of all. Hence, demanding to expeditiously begin trial of the main accused did not arise and held no water, he added.

He said it was beyond his capacity and held no authority to issue or involve in such an issue, nor direct any member to execute such activities when he was a peace-loving citizen of Nagaland.
He appealed to the NZPO to question landowner of Lamhainamdi village, and not the person who did not even know the actual story pertaining to the incident.

According to Achumi, NZPO as an apex tribal body must first ascertain the factual/ground reality before targeting him as an accused, thereby tarnishing his image and reputation that he had claimed to have gained sacrificing every breath of his life to date for Naga nation, which he declared would not be tolerated at any cost.

Achumi further appealed to all peace-loving Nagas under the banner of “Nagaland for Christ” to maintain unity, peace, and tranquillity for a peaceful resolution and logical conclusion to the Naga issue in the larger interest of Naga people.
