Along with the rest of the country, Tuensang district observed the Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas under the ministry of Non-conventional Renewable Energy government of India at Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang. Painting competition, essay writing and extempore speech on the topic ‘Renewable Energy’ marked the celebration, which was organized by the district administration. Around 15 schools and colleges along with DBs, GBs, heads of offices, TTC members and tribal leaders took part in the programme.
Ngangshi Sangtam, Commandant, Village Guard Tuensang, who graced the occasion as the guest of honour lauded the organizers for uplifting the students community. He also encouraged the students to put more effort in the days to come for the common benefit of the people.
In painting competition, S.Thungtikhumba of Holy Angel School bagged the first position while Baton Khiam of GHSS and Moanaro of Baptist Thangjem School bagged the second and third position respectively. Consolation prize was also given to T.Chungsiba Sangtam of GHS Thangjam. In extempore speech, Tangmong of Holy Angel School won the first position while Temjennokba of GHSS and Hosea Pukho of GHSS won the second and third position. In essay competition, Parimal of Saochang College won the first position while A.Rabecca and Biplab Enoow of GHSS bagged the second and third position.
The programme was chaired by Principal SCC, invocation was pronounced by Pastor TTBC, ADC Tuensang delivered the welcome address while vote of thanks was proposed by Principal GHSS, Tuensang.
