
The Tseminyu Lojvü along with the rest of the Rengmas of Nagaland & Assam and Tesophenyu Group celebrated Ngada festival. On November 28.
A conglomerate of 7 villages namely Tseminyu, T. Zisunyu, Tseminyu South, Ngvüphen, Phenda and Gukhanyu, led by the chairmen of the villages took to Ngada procession from Tseminyu village to Tseminyu Old Town and culminated at Tseminyu New Town.
A short programme was held before the Ngada procession. Ngada greetings was delivered by Vice President Rengma Hoho, M.S. Khing.
The significance of Ngada was shared by Pfukase Nsu and the programme was blessed by pastor Tseminyu Village Baptist Church Sonilo Tep.
RPOK general session & Ngada celebration
Rengma Public Organisation Kohima (RPOK) organised its annual general session-cum-Ngada celebration 2021 (mini-hornbill festival) at Naga solidarity park, Kohima on Saturday.
In his presidential address, RPOK president, Khinyi Woch encouraged the gathering to foster good relationship with neighbours and friends being residents of the state capital.
While reflecting on the achievements of the organisation over the past few years, he urged the gathering to strive towards continually promoting and protecting the identity and welfare of the community in line with the organisation’s motto, “identity and welfare”.
He encouraged the youths to look beyond white-collar government job towards entrepreneurship and self-employment.
During the function, a certification of recognition was also presented to writer, Joseph S Thong in recognition of his contributions in the field of Naga and Rengma vernacular literature.
Ngada greetings was delivered by commissioner & secretary to the government of Nagaland, Kenilo Apon while K. Gwanilo Himb shared the meaning, significance and Ngada practices to the gathering.
Meanwhile, Tesophenyu cultural troupe Kohima made a cultural presentation during the programme while Kenny Semp presented the secretary’s report and treasurer’s report was delivered by Senchuya Kath.
A new team of office bearers for the tenure (2021-24) was also dedicated by RBCK associate pastor Ahyulo Kemp under the presidentship of K. Gwanilo Himb.
Earlier, the programme chaired by RPOK vice-president, Yhunchilo Khing, invocation was said by Rengma Baptist Church Kohima associate pastor, Lechito Tep and welcome address was delivered by vice president, Kegwanyo Tep. Words of gratitude was proposed by Esron Himb while benediction was said by RBCK associate pastor Senenle Apon followed by Ngada feast.
Tesophenyu Group Ngada celebration-cum-badminton tourney
The Tesophenyu Group celebrated the Ngada festival which was organized by Tesophenyu Group Badminton Club at the residence of Ar. Jwenga Seb.
On the occasion, Alikha Kath and G.K. Rengma highlighted on the significance of Rengma Ngada festival in which both the speakers impressed upon the gathering to inculcate the good virtues of instilling a forgiving and thankful heart amongst the members.
Aaron Tep invoked God’s blessings while Jonah Tep said grace for the Ngada feast. Earlier, the progamme was chaired by Kenneth Woch.
The club comprises of more than 50 members. Ar. Jwenga who hosted the festival extended Ngada greetings and wished the members a fruitful and prosperous life ahead. Badminton tournament was also organized to celebrate the occasion.
