With several arterial roads in Dimapur in dilapidated condition, particularly NH-36 stretch from Dillai Gate to Dhobinala junction, construction and repairing of NH-36 is set to commence within a week’s time.
Sources informed Nagaland Post that tendering for the construction and repairing work was over and that paper works would soon be completed and work commence as soon as possible.
It may be noted that the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways had on February 2, 2021 awarded the work to M/s Kampung Kamyer Trading Co for construction of the road on the given stretch. However, the contract was terminated on July 27, 2022 due to violation of contract agreement by the contractor, who has also been blacklisted.
Later, the Ministry approved the re-tendering process for the same work after which PWD (NH) in September 2022 issued notice inviting e-tender for development of existing two-lane pavement, including strengthening of NH-36 from 160/000 km to 166/880 km on EPC mode.
The proposal was made in August and the bid due date was on October, 2022. However, due to some issues, the tendering process was delayed.
However, sources said that the works would commence soon once the paper works are cleared.
