Reservation to uplift backward areas: Rio

State chief minister, Neipiu Rio said that the reservation in government job has been allotted to strengthen and uplift the people of the backward areas. He called upon the people of those areas to take the advantage. Rio said this at the meeting with the leaders of Pungro areas, government officers and GBs at GA Guest House, Pungro on April 28.
He also requested the people to have a mindset of working together as the government was sincerely working to bring development to the people.
Rio also stressed the need to build a town hall and multi-purpose hall for a healthy lifestyle.
Also speaking at the meeting, minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, K.G. Kenye said that education was the most important part of lives in order to compete with the rest of the world and strict focus was needed to be on this field.
Kenye also maintained that cooperation among the community was a must and called upon everyone to come together.
“Development is very important in one’s life and we should not compromise in this matter, together we can do it, and all sections of the people should come forward,” he added.
Advisor for Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger also spoke at the meeting.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by GBs Union Pungro sub-division. Short speeches were delivered by YTC president, Throngso and chairman, Milongmika Range (Mimi), M. Thsesong Yimchunger. The meeting was chaired by ADC Pungro Theodore Yanthan.
