Reshab Chetri, who was raised and studied in Dimapur, was recently crowned the Rubaru Mr. India Model International 2023, one of the prestigious Indian male pageantry competitions in the country, organized by Rubaru Group.
Addressing a press conference at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur, Chetri stated that 32 participants from all over the country took part in the competition, with its finale held in Goa on August 5.
Chetri informed that he was crowned Rubaru Mr. India Model International 2023, along with the sub-title, “Best Runway Model”. He also disclosed that he along with 11 others (Top 12) would be representing India at the Mr. Model International 2024.
He attributed his victory to God, his friends and families, while acknowledging all designers from Nagaland who had supported him in his endeavour.
Asked on his family, he informed that his father worked at District Education Office Mon and revealed that he was raised in Dimapur, but was now settled in Manipur.
Asked on the status of male pageantry in the North East, Chetri lamented that North East does not have much platform for modelling, however claimed that it has potential in the region.
He also lamented on how male pageant does not have the hype as compared to the hype female pageantry gets.
Chetri later urged youths to come forward with all talents and not to give up and stressed on the importance of giving back to the society.
Pointing out that there was no representative from Nagaland in the recently conducted male pageantry competition, he assured to give his best so as to have a representative from Nagaland.
