Respect, courtesy essential to sustain society: Kiyaneilie

Minister for social welfare and parliamentary affairs Kiyaneilie Peseyie said in any society respect and courtesy were essential to sustain the society.
He said this while addressing the gathering as chief guest during the inaugural session of two-day 45th Tenyidie annual seminar-cum-platinum jubilee postlude celebration held at Ura academy hall mission road Kohima on Thursday.
Lauding the Ura Academy for many achievements thus far, Peseyie said it was possible due to unity among the leaders. He challenged the gathering that “our nation should be a respectable one and it will possible only when coming together with one voice and mind.”
Chakhesang public organization (CPO) president Sovenyi Nyekha, in his address, said “our culture is the basis of our identity”, adding that one should not forget who one was while venturing to embrace the good cultures of others. He said “we are living in time of cultural crossroads where all cultures are intermixed”, adding that “we must respect and value our cultures.”
He said the two foundational pillars of good system were never compromise with hard work and honesty. CPO president reminded the gathering that Tenyimi was not just an interest group but brothers and sisters and that the bond they shared was not something they could disown whether they liked it or not.
On the occasion, parliamentary secretary for housing Er. Levi released seven books written in Tenyidie namely “major festival of Tenyimia” written by Pudenü Thaprü, “development of Konyak language and literature” by Vesavolü Rhakho, “ ancestral culture of Angami” by Vizomenuo   Merlyn Yhome, “language and literature of the Kyong Naga” by Nüngoi Nyekha, “ a critical study of Tenyimia fiction” by Seyiechütuo, “ phonological study of Gariphema and Tuophema dialect” by Vikuosa Pielie and “ tradition agricultural technique of Tenyimia” by Khrüvolie Keyho.       
The function was led by Daso Paphino, invocation prayer by Dr. Atsi Dolie, welcome address was delivered by Vitshulieü Sekhose, special song was presented by jubilee choir. There was cultural programme in the second session where various Tenyimia tribes presented their cultural dances.
