Restoration of Wokha-Bokajan road discussed

Restoration of Wokha-Bokajan road which remained closed for the past two years have been taken up at the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Wokha held on February 11, 2025.


According to DIPR report, EE R&B Baghty informed that the road has been cut off in two locations and in this regard estimates and proposal has been submitted to higher authority for restoration of the said road.


The board after deliberation requested the concerned department to take up follow-up action to ensure that sanctioned is being made for restoration of the road.


The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Vineet Kumar was attended by chairman DPDB Wokha, Mhonbemo Humtsoe and advisor of Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan.
Reviewing the last meeting minute, the Deputy Commissioner reminded the departments who are yet to submit the status report of the land occupied by respective departments to submit the same before the end of February 2025.


Deputy Commissioner while presenting the draft vision document of Banana said a copy of the same has been circulated and requested all the members to give suggestion and inputs to be included in the draft documents before finalisation.


President Team Metamorphosis, Thungdemo Kyong presented in detail about the Folk Festival which is scheduled to be held from February 26 to 28, 2025 at Doyang. PowerPoint presentation was also presented by department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources and department of Power.

Reacting on the presentation made by DFO (Fisheries) Mhathung Yanthan asked the DFO to prepare a proposal for restoration of the Ice Plan located at Doyang, as it remains un-operational since its installation way back in 2012. Yanthan further requested the EE. Power to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the HSLC and HSSLC examination.
