Former missionary to China, Rev. Dr. T Alemmeren commemorated his 90th birth anniversary and released his book titled “ray of inspiration” to mark the occasion, at The Lighthouse Church (LC) here, on Thursday.
Tir Yimyim editor, K Temjen Jamir who released the book, said that the image of Rev. Alemmeren always came to his mind when Nagas talked about sending 10000 missionaries around the world.
Temjen said that he regarded the reverend as a strong agent who mobilised the youth to be witnesses of the Gospel and a frontline in the realm of spiritual work.
In his speech, author of the book, Rev. Dr. Alemmeren said that the book contained some of his poems that were recorded throughout his journey.
He challenged the elder generation to invest their time for the younger generation.
The reverend also added that he invested his time in translating from English Sunday school into Ao language and that it took him five years to translate 75 books, comprising of 60 student books and 15 teacher books.
Dr. Akumla Longkumer who edited the book informed that it was published in a chronological manner and not subject wise.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by pastor, Wabang Longchari who also said the word of God, invocation was said by LC secretary, Edward Odyuo, welcome address was delivered by Naro Keitzer and benediction was offered by Dr. Maongwati Aier. Friend of Rev. Dr. Alemmeren, Temjen Pongen also delivered a short speech.
