DIMAPUR: Chümoukedima District Administration, along with district level officers from various line departments, participated in a state level video conference review meeting on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the nationwide “Reform Utsav 2026” campaign on September 15 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Chümoukedima.
According to a DIPR report, Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, Nagaland, Y. Kikheto Sema, presented a detailed review of SDG performance across districts. He stated that the SDGs comprised 16 goals and 84 targets and stressed that all development activities must be undertaken keeping these in view. He called for timely reporting and updating of progress on Ministry and Department portals, while urging Deputy Commissioners to identify infrastructure gaps, including government buildings in poor condition.
Kikheto further highlighted the three Aspirational Blocks in Nagaland-Akuhaito, Khongsa and Thonoknyu-and called for focused development in line with SDG goals and targets.
He informed that he would visit all districts to inspect ongoing projects and developmental activities. A presentation on Reform Utsav 2026 was delivered by Kumar Ramnikant, Secretary, Industries & Commerce.
Addressing officials, DC Chümoukedima, Polan John, emphasised that SDG implementation required collective effort involving multiple departments. He stressed the need for factual data, proper reporting and timely uploading of information so that district performance is accurately reflected. He urged officials to focus on parameters where the district was lagging and work towards achieving the targets.
Meanwhile, a District Level Coordination Meeting on Reform Utsav was held at the DC’s Office Chamber, Meluri, on September 16. Deputy Commissioner Meluri, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi, deliberated on the objectives and purpose of Reform Utsav, stressing the need for awareness and sensitisation campaigns to ensure wider public participation.
He also emphasised the importance of obtaining feedback from citizens and stakeholders at the grassroots level for effective implementation.
EAC Meluri, Zuchibemo Ezung, spoke on the modalities for conducting and reporting awareness programmes under Reform Utsav, highlighting the importance of proper documentation and timely reporting of departmental activities.
