Reviews meeting on PM Vishwakarma held in Kohima

DIMAPUR: Kohima District Implementation Committee (DIC) for PM Vishwakarma held its review and planning meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Chamber, Kohima, under the chairmanship of DC Kohima, B. Henok Buchem on June 29, 2026.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting reviewed progress of the scheme with focus on credit linkage, skill training, toolkit distribution and marketing support for traditional artisans. A key issue discussed was the discrepancy between district and bank data on loan applications, with the DC stressing the need for better coordination with banks.
The committee noted that ITI Kohima has successfully conducted training programmes and plans to begin advanced training for carpenters, while SCTE and SIRD were urged to submit their training action plans. It was informed that toolkit distribution is underway through India Post and that PM Vishwakarma products from Kohima have begun receiving orders via Amazon.
Officials also highlighted the formation of the district’s first artisan cluster, which has been invited to conduct training programmes in Delhi. The meeting concluded with a call for closer coordination among all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the scheme in the district.
