The Assam Royal Global University (RGU) is set to host a cultural and academic initiative in collaboration with the Indian Museum, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The programme is being organised to mark International Museum Day 2026 and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram. Notably, this will be the first time the Indian Museum is curating such an exhibition in Northeast India.
The event will be inaugurated on May 13 at the RGU campus and will be graced by the Director of the Indian Museum, Kolkata, along with other dignitaries. A key highlight of the programme will be the launch of a curated exhibition titled “Bharat – Contours of Continuity”, featuring rare replicas and heritage treasures from the collections of the Indian Museum.
The exhibition will remain open to students, scholars, and the general public from May 13 to May 21.
In addition, two specialised workshops will be conducted on May 14 and 15, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. These sessions will be led by experts from the Indian Museum and Prof.
