RIIN panel report tabled in Assembly

As assured on the first of the 8th session of the 13th NLA, deputy chief minister Y. Patton and minister in-charge of home, tabled a copy of the Report of the Commission on Registration of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) on the floor of the house on the last day of the session Thursday.

However, no discussion were held on the commission report.

It may be recalled that JCPI, which has been spearheading ILP for entire Dimapur district, demanded a deadline for SLC report on RIIN.

Earlier on August 3, both chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy chief minister Y. Patton had said that the implementation of RIIN was taking long time since consultation with various stakeholders were on and also due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After discussions with civil society organizations, a report would be tabled in the Assembly for discussion, Rio had said.
