Following the expiry of date of banning the use of heavy machinery for extraction of resources (sand gravels and boulders) in Dhansiri and Chathe river within Dimapur district as per order dated September 29, 2016, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur on Friday said the order has been extended till further notice.
In a press release, DC Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, stated that the ban was for preservation of the river and its resources and to address the issue of inundation of flood water to surrounding villages the river bank. DC informed that the order was issued for strict compliance by all concerned.
