RNPC condemns Konsakhul killings, demands justice

DIMAPUR, JUN 17 (NPN): The Rengma Naga Peoples Council (RNPC) of Karbi Anglong, Assam has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved families of six Naga civilians who were brutally killed in Manipur.
In a statement, RNPC president Kenilo Rengma and general secretary Chenobu Seb said the tragic loss of innocent lives was an irreparable wound to the Naga community and described the act as “barbaric and inhuman.” It asserted that such senseless violence was an affront to human dignity and peace, adding that “an attack on any Naga is an attack on all Nagas.” The Council strongly condemned the killings and called upon the authorities to immediately identify, apprehend and prosecute those responsible. It stressed that justice must be delivered swiftly and impartially to ensure accountability and prevent recurrence of such atrocities.
RNPC further appealed to all stakeholders to work towards restoring peace, security and mutual respect among communities, emphasising that unity and collective resolve were essential to safeguard the lives and rights of every Naga individual. Reaffirming its commitment to stand with the victims and uphold the dignity of the Naga people, RNPC said it would pursue justice through democratic and lawful means. “The blood of innocent lives must not be forgotten and justice delayed shall be justice denied,” it declared.
