RNYO, RNSO denounce ZUF-GPRN/NSCN merger

Rongmei Naga Youth Organization (RNYO) and Rongmei Naga Students’ Organization (RNSO) has denounced and condemned the merging of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and Zeliangrong Civil Organizations to GPRN/NSCN on October 26 and NNPGs on October 29.

In a press release RNYO president, Kanpatlung Pamei and RNSO president, Pantising Kamei termed ZUF declaration signed by its chairman, Raitu Chawang and vice chairman, S. Kamson Vice Chairman ZUF in the presence of Zeliangrong Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as a “fatal defeat”.

The signatories said that the “political rights of the people have been exchanged for mere alluring economic packages blindly hope to get from NNPG share”.

RNYO, RNSO also termed Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN), Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) and All Zeliangrong Student’s Union (AMN) decision to support WC of NNPGs as a “total mockery”.

The signatories said it was devoid of Naga national vision and seen only as a “tribalistic assertion” within the Indian state of Nagaland. It further stated that Zeliangrong CSOs mention of Jadonang’s movement has “devalued Naga Raj Movement to a mere selfish play thing”.

“The Naga resistance movement recorded in British world history cannot be taken advantaged for just a state politics by few unscrupulous leaders,’ stated the release.

They said, “No amount of economic packages assured or wishful hope and promises made by NNPG or India can barter away the priceless sacrifices of the Naga people.”

RNYO, RNSO said Rongmei people have been upholding the supreme sacrifices and contributions of Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu and that any attempt to “sabotage or barter away the hard earned history shall be resisted at all cost till the last drop of our blood”.

The signatories further stated that “contentious” NNPGs consisting of “diverse ideological factions”, who are narrowing down their vision to base only in the state of Nagaland, was “hypnotizing” Zeliangrong for a total breakdown of Naga house. This, it said was viewed as the “most regrettable blunder” of the present Naga generation.

The release said Rongmei Youth and students’ organizations, who are the “rightful legacy holders and responsible leaders to determine the economic and political future of the people”, shall fight against all that stands against the common interest of the Rongmei in particular and the Nagas in general.
