Road construction undertaken by public

To alleviate the gruelling 7 to 8 hours trek to Shamator, the people of five villages, namely Thsuthu, Pungrungru & Rurru joined forces to repair and construct the Tsuthu- Pungrru -Rurru- Shipongru road without waiting for government aid and effort.
A press note by road construction organizers S. Keoshu and Kejingkhum stated that the arduous stretch of 15 kms is almost half done with generous aid from voluntary contributions, well wishers and people who have already been sensitized through social media platforms.
It stated that upon completion of the road, people would not only be comfortable but it would also prove to the world how determined the people of the area are to restore peace and harmony in the region, which was the need of the hour.
