Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayats (AKMWP) has served an ultimatum on the department of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs (UD&MA) to repair of approach road of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site.
In a representation addressed to the commissioner & secretary, UD&MA, the AKMWP president Thejao Sekhose stated that the sanitation vehicles of wards of Kohima town were facing grievances as the approach road of KMC dumping site was in a very deplorable condition causing severe damages to the sanitation vehicles.
AKMWP stated that menial sanitation fee collected from the residents were being exhausted in repairing the sanitation vehicles which affects the maintenance of the drivers and labours
AKMWP has, therefore, urge the responsible authority to take up restoration of the approach road within two. Failure to take action, AKMWP said it has decided to return back all the sanitation vehicles provided to the Wards/colonies.
