First Diocesan Priest of Kohima diocese Rev. Fr. Gaikhang Gabriel from the Rongmei community was ordained by Bishop of Kohima Rev. Dr. James Thoppil at St. Joseph’s Parish’s Church Chumukedima on January 6.
Speaking at the ordination ceremony, Bishop highlighted the role of the priest and exhorted the community to support “their” priests through prayers, correction appreciation and encouragement.
After the ceremony, the newly ordained priest continued the Holy Mass, delivered his first priestly blessing to the people. Special item from CMC Novitiate, Parish, Women Association, CYA, Diphupar ‘A’ were present.
A cassette titled “Saviour: salvatoriam songs” music provided by Fr. Gabriel Gaikhang was released by the Bishop during the felicitation programme.
