DIMAPUR, AUG 8 (NPN): RPJ Arena, in collaboration with Pool of Bethesda, organised the RPJ Swimming Competition 2.0 at RPJ Arena, Ekranipathar, Dimapur, on Friday.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Hope Academy proprietor Sashila Ozukum urged parents and guardians to actively support their children in identifying and pursuing their interests and talents.
She emphasised that children should be encouraged to explore opportunities beyond academics, stressing that there are various avenues to nurture and develop their abilities.
Highlighting the importance of family support in shaping successful athletes, Ozukum said many renowned sportspersons had achieved success because their parents recognised their potential at an early age and encouraged them to pursue their passion. She further called for a broader outlook towards success, stating that education should not be the sole measure of achievement. She encouraged parents to recognise their children’s potential in sports and other fields and provide them with the necessary support to excel.
Ozukum also lauded the organisers for providing a platform to promote sporting talent and community engagement, and extended her best wishes to all participants.
Delivering the host’s address, RPJ Arena proprietor Rongpangnichet Jamir expressed gratitude to God for the successful conduct of the event.
He said the primary objective of the competition was to provide swimmers with a platform to come together, showcase their abilities and improve their skills through healthy competition.
Jamir also officially declared the RPJ Swimming Competition 2.0 open.
The competition featured four categories: adult men and women; boys and girls aged nine years and below; and boys and girls in the 10–15 age group.
