RPOK conducts annual session & felicitation program

The Rengma Public Organization Kohima (RPOK) held its annual session & felicitation program at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima on June 30, with R. Khing advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resources Development as special guest for the session.
A press release by RPOK media cell stated that, R. Khing released the RPOK’s triennial report magazine and in his speech while reminiscing of his days as one of the early Rengma settlers in Kohima, also highlighted the importance and role of the Rengmas living in Kohima. He further encouraged and challenged the community, especially the youth to come out of their comfort zones and strive towards excellence. 
Khinyi Woch, president RPOK and Benjamin Lorin, general secretary RPOK in their presidential address and secretary’s report  respectively highlighted not only the activities and programs undertaken by the RPOK during the 2015-18  tenure but also shared their experiences and encouraged the community to strive towards achieving greater heights in every field.
RPOK also felicitated its member, R. Khing for his successful election to the 13th NLA under 12-Tseminyu AC. The RPOK’s Best Citizen Award 2018 with cash was conferred to senior citizen and pioneer among Rengmas residing in Kohima, C. T. Rengma. C.T Rengma in his speech appreciated the RPOK and encouraged the gathering with some elderly words.
The program was chaired by Shingato Jemu vice-president RPOK and began with an invocation by Dr. Kenny Tsela, pastor RBCK and Philip Kent, joint secretary, RPOK welcoming the gathering. There was also a male voice “Gholo” presented by Hinenlo and friends. The RBCKYD choir also presented a special number. A word of gratitude was delivered by Wekhenu Mesen, vice president RPOK. The new team of office bearers of RPOK for the tenure 2018-21 is led by Khinyi Woch and Shingato Jemu selected to continue as president and vice president respectively and Kenny Semp and Yhunchilo Khing joining as general secretary and vice president respectively.  Zakevi Kesen, associate pastor, RBCKYD invoked blessings for the new office bearers.
