RPP to participate ‘meaningfully’ in LS polls

The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has announced that it would “engage and participate meaningfully” in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to be conducted possibly in April 2024. The party in a press release recalled that in the run-up to the previous Assembly election, many conscious Nagas had felt that the time was right to bring about the desired change. However, it admitted that this was not successful due to various inherent factors.

The release stated that the burning desire of Naga people to see real change in Nagaland was the driving force and fuel for the party.
Declaring that the Nagas would have the opportunity to channelise their dreams into reality if they came together, the RPP gave a clarion call to the people to rise above party politics and elect the right leader to represent them in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

The party stressed that this was the right time to fight for the future, else it warned that Nagaland would continue to be a failed state.
The RPP mentioned that Nagaland continued to reel under the perpetual cycle of corruption and misgovernance, and in the news for wrong reasons, for which it had been termed a failed state and the corruption capital of India.
Amidst this, it said the resounding cry of the Naga people yearning for change continued to grow louder.

Noting that the call for dedicated and passionate leaders to lead Nagaland into a new era of peace and development had been the long aspirations of all the Nagas, the RPP claimed that since its inception, it had been expressing this aspiration of the people.
According to the party, the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would be a battle of ideologies and that it was important for Nagas to stay on the right side of history.

Given the opportunity, the RPP assured that it would work selflessly for the cherished dreams of the Naga people, which was the creation of a new and better Nagaland.
