Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio said his government has kept ready Rs 180 crore for development of education and health sectors under Development of Under Developed Area (DUDA) department.
The chief minister announced this while speaking at the inauguration of Zinki Bailey Bridge at Zinki River on April 28, 2023. He also informed about the upcoming funding programmes, which would lift the economy and per capita income of the people. Rio said discussions would be held with departmental HoDs on guidelines and priorities.
The Chief Minister said that completion of bridge will bring multi-faceted progress for the people. He however called for judicious use of funds.
Earlier, giving a technical report, DUDA executive engineer N Imti Chang, said the Bridge, measuring 14 feet width and 160 feet in length, was completed at a cost of Rs.15 crore.
At the programme, short speeches were delivered by advisor fire and emergency services, home guard and civil defence S Kiusumew Yimchunger; advisor geology and mining DUDA Chingang Konyak; Tutheze village council; USLP and USSC.
Representative for Longmatra Area GBs association appealed for upgradation of EAC to SDO Civil at Longmatra. He also sought prompt implementation of inland waterway connectivity on Longmatra-Avakhung stretch of TIzu – Zinki river.
Commissioner & Secretary (DUDA) KS Anden Konyak chaired the programme.
