Following the regional transport authority (RTA) meeting on November 26, the state RTA has issued revised taxi fares as follows:
In an order, DC & chairman, RTA Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie informed that halting charges for local taxi was fixed at Rs. 120 per hour; hire rate of regional taxi at Rs. 29 per KM; passenger fare of two-wheeler would be as follows: a) base rate from starting point to the first point at Rs. 30 and b) subsequent addition from first point onwards at Rs. 20 per point.
DC informed that violation of rates fixed by RTA would invite cancellation and suspension of permit under Section 86 of MV Act, 1988.
