
Rongmei Youth Club (RYC) Dimapur observed Martyr’s Day commemorating the 89th death anniversary of Haipou Jadonang at Rongmei customary court, Dimapur on August 29, with a small gathering adhering to the SOPs of COVID-19.
In a press release by RYC Dimapur stated that, James Akham, president Rongmei Community Dimapur as special guest exhorted the gathering. Panti Kamei, member Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) spoke on the topic “what can we learn from Jadonang’s life.”
He concluded with a challenges put forward towards the gathering to live with a cause. R. Kamei, chairman Ragailong Colony, Dimapur also spoke on the freedom struggle of Haipou Jadonang.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by RYC president Makuran Rongmei, who also chaired the programme. Rev, Gaidim Kamei, pastor Rongmei Baptist Church Burma Camp offered a prayer and vote of thanks was given by RYC general secretary, Gangangpou Dangmei.
It must be noted that on this day, the legendary leader Haipou Jadonang was hanged to death by the British colonial ruler.
