S.I. Jamir asks students to reform & restructure society

Advisor Urban Development, S.I. Jamir asked students to reform and restructure society as it is an urgent necessity for the present Naga society.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at Ao Students’ Union Kohima (ASUK) Students’ day cum general conference 2015 held under the theme “Rongdak Loyim” and organized by Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Kohima at State Academy Hall, Friday.
Referring to the prevailing corruption in the State, Jamir queried whether the students could bring about a revolutionary change in the Naga society.
The advisor called upon the student community to create a corruption free society and added that they have moral responsibility to check corruption. Urging the students to know their responsibilities, S.I. Jamir also advised them to maintain the spirit of hard work and perseverance so to excel in this competitive world.
Retired additional chief secretary Nagaland, T.N. Manen IAS spoke on the theme “Rongdak Loyim” as guest speaker and urged the students   to be aware of their duty as a citizen in the society and to take up any challenges on the quest of achieving their goals.
During the programme AKTK Meritorious Awards for  HSLC & HSSLC toppers for the year 2014&15 were awarded to Akummeren Imchen of Mangmetong village, Longpongbo of Molungkimong village, Tekatemjen Pongen of Longjang village, Bendangkokba R Jamir of Aliba village, Bendaglemla Imsong of Longjang village and Daniel Imchen of Chungliyimsen village.  
The gathering was enthralled through a song by Imsuyangla Imsong. Welcome address was delivered by AKTK President, Repa Ozukum and vote of thanks by AKTK General Secretary, Katilong Jamir. The programme was chaired by Sungjemongla Jamir.
The first session was followed by general conference where general secretary report, audit and nomination report were presented.
