DIMAPUR: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Kiphire Divisional Unit held a consultative meeting at the Multi-purpose Hall, Pungro Town, on May 28, bringing together party leaders, frontal organisations, and grassroots workers to discuss key political issues, strengthen party unity, and chart developmental strategies.
According to a press release, the meeting focused on reinforcing the party’s organisational structure and fostering unity among party members.
Addressing the gathering, advisor for Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Relief and Rehabilitation, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger, MLA highlighted the importance of strengthening the party’s grassroots connections and revitalising its regional foundations. He urged party workers to refrain from political bias based on tribe, religion, or clan and to remain committed to the core principles of the NPF.
Yimchunger said the party must continue to serve as a guardian of Naga identity, cultural values, and regional interests. He also appealed for unity among party members, encouraging them to rise above differences and work collectively towards a progressive and cohesive future.
President of the area unit 60 A/C, Khamong, clarified concerns regarding the proposed merger between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the NPF. He stated that the merger should not be viewed as one party absorbing another, but rather as a coming together of two political entities to share ideologies, responsibilities, and collective efforts.
He emphasized that both parties were moving forward under a common banner to build a stronger and more unified voice, aimed at promoting progress, development, and the overall prosperity of Nagaland.
Short speeches was delivered by president area unit 59/AC, Yangtsali, president area unit 60/AC, Khamong, president, divisional unit Kiphire, Tsaseto Sangtam, and vice president central women wing, Throngkila.
The meeting was attended by officials of the NPF Kiphire Divisional Unit, party representatives from 59 Sitimi-Seyochung and 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituencies, as well as office bearers from various village units.
