As part of his ongoing district-wide review of District Level Co-ordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meetings, Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir held a session on Monday at the DC’s conference hall in Mokokchung.
DISHA, have been constituted by Ministry of Rural Development at district levels under the chairpersonship of concerned Member of Parliament to monitor proper implementation of key central schemes/ programmes and to ensure better coordination at all the levels of elected representatives for efficient and time-bound development of districts.
The meeting aimed to evaluate and strengthen the implementation of government schemes through coordinated efforts with local stakeholders.
Addressing district officials, civil society members, and village leaders, Supongmeren stressed on effective implementation of state and central schemes at the grassroots level. He said coordination and transparency among stakeholders was key to ensuring timely benefits for the public.
Highlighting the role of departmental heads (HoDs), Supongmeren said the Deputy Commissioner has the authority to resolve any implementation issues within 30 days. He acknowledged challenges faced by departments and assured that the DISHA committee was set up to support and facilitate progress.
In this regard, he urged all stakeholders to cooperate in the development efforts with a positive attitude.
Presentations were made by DRDA (PMAY & MGNREGA), PHED (Jal Jeevan Mission), ICDS, DAO (PMKSY), and DEO (SSA). DC Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma, gave the welcome address while the vote of thanks was delivered by DRDA Project Director Imyapangla.
