Salhoutuono Kruse calls upon party workers to remain united

A consultative meeting (AC level & above) of 8th Western Angami A/C held was held on March 25 at Sechü–Zubza Council Hall with the directive from the NPF Kohima division.
The meeting was hosted by Salhoutuono Kruse, minister for horticulture & women resource development, government of Nagaland and in-charge of NPF Kohima division.
The meeting brought together all the party workers representatives from the 8th Western Angami A/C, including Central Office Bearers (COBs), Members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), Cell Convenors/Members, Division Office Bearers (parent body, women, youth & farmers wings) and all AC office bearers from all respective wings. The gathering reflected a strong spirit of unity, discipline and mutual respect among party workers.
In her address, Salhoutuono Kruse reflected on her early political journey alongside her late husband, K. Kruse, recalling the struggles they faced in the initial years. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all party workers from NDPP, NPF, BJP and Congress, as well as well-wishers who contributed to her success.
She described her achievement as a historic milestone, becoming one of the first women MLA from the 8th Western Angami A/C and extended her sincere appreciation to party leaders for reposing their trust in her competence and leadership, enabling her to become the first woman Minister of Nagaland.
She called upon all party workers to remain united, uphold mutual respect and coordination and work collectively to strengthen the party under the leadership of Dr. Neiphiu Rio. Emphasizing unity, she reiterated the message, “United we stand, divided we fall” and urged party workers to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly towards strengthening the party and ensuring the overall progress and development of the constituency.
During the meeting, Senior leaders Goneiu Sirie, vice president (COB) & assistant in charge, Kohima division and Mhiesizokho Zinyü, member of the NPF Elders Forum (CEC), also addressed the gathering.
Sirie highlighted the historical foundation of the regional party in 1963 under the leadership of A. Kevichüsa and his associates, noting its legacy as one of the oldest regional parties in India. He emphasized that party workers are the backbone of the organization and urged all members to work with sincerity and dedication under the leadership of party president Dr. Neiphiu Rio, while adhering to the party constitution and ideology. He also called for greater coordination and mutual understanding between party workers and elected councillors.
In his address, Zinyü underscored the importance of commitment, trust, mutual respect and transparency within the party. He reiterated the centrality of Dr. Neiphiu Rio’s leadership and encouraged members to remain united and disciplined.
Both leaders also drew attention to the forthcoming Census revision, likely to commence in April and advised members to remain vigilant and informed.
In a voluntary address, Rokovisie Rino, secretary (COB) and senior party worker, remarked that there was a time when the party felt directionless, like hive without its queen(leader). However, he expressed gratitude to the party for the present stability. He urged all members to remain loyal to the party and the MLA, respect one another, uphold unity, refrain from internal discord, backbiting and misinformation.
The programme was chaired by Mhiesilhoukho Yalie, AC President. The invocation was delivered by Dzüviho Kin, AC advisor and the vote of thanks was proposed by Vitsalhou Kesiezie, AC advisor.
The House unanimously resolved to: uphold unity, mutual respect and transparency at all levels for the overall growth and strengthening of the party, reaffirm unflinching support to the leadership of Salhoutuono Kruse, minister for horticulture & women resource development, and extend full cooperation and commitment towards strengthening her leadership, and extend steadfast support to the leadership of party president Dr. Neiphiu Rio and reiterate commitment to work under his dynamic guidance for party unity and continued progress.
