SAMETI organises two-day online training

State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two-day online training programme on “skills for using ICT in agricultural extension & kisan mobile apps” for ATMA functionaries at SAMETI, Medziphema from April 29 – 30. The training programme was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on skills for using ICT. 

A press release by SAMETI Medziphema stated that resource persons for the training programme were professor & head department of agricultural extension SASRD: NU Medziphema, Dr. K.K. Jha, principal scientist (agronomy) ICAR research complex for NEH region, Nagaland centre Dr. Lohit K Baishya and professor & head department of agriculture economics, Dr. Amod Sharma.
Participatory lectures on ICT in agriculture extension-basic skills & kisan mobile apps and scope and opportunities of ICT in agricultural extension were covered during the training programme. 
Altogether, 22 participants from different districts attended the training.
Earlier, the valedictory programme was chaired by DPD SAMETI, Janet Chishi.
In her valedictory address, she encouraged the participants to take the practical knowledge gained during the training and to download and go-through important apps related to agriculture and disseminate the information to farmers. Feedbacks were received from all the participants and E-certificates were distributed to the participants.
Meanwhile, DPD, SAMETI Yezaho Swu pronounced the vote of thanks.
