Aspirational District Programme in Kiphire and the Aspirational Block Programme in Khongsa were conducted on February 26 and 27, 2026 at DBDP Hall, DC’s Office Kiphire and Salomi Village (Khongsa Block) respectively.
According to DIPR reports, the programme was graced by A. Muralidharan, deputy advisor (Water & Land Resources), NITI Aayog, New Delhi, as the special guest. During his visit to Salomi Village, Muralidharan interacted with frontline workers including health workers, Anganwadi workers and teachers, appreciating their dedicated service in improving grassroots development indicators.
As part of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, he also engaged with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) promoting local products under the banner Aakansha and inaugurated exhibition stalls showcasing community-based enterprises. In addition, he flagged off a vaccination van for the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Drive, reinforcing the government’s commitment to livestock health and rural livelihoods.
The launch programme at Salomi further included registration camps on Agniveer recruitment conducted by the 30th AR Kiphire Battalion, encouraging youth participation in national service.
The events witnessed the presence of Heads of Departments, development partners and community members, reflecting strong inter-departmental convergence and collective resolve to accelerate holistic development under the Aspirational District and Block initiatives.
