As part of the ongoing 10-day special awareness campaign under Sankalp, the District Administration Niuland in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) organised an awareness session at Platinum College, Nihokhu Village on September 9.
The programme focused on empowering women through higher education, vocational training and skill development, with the aim of equipping young women with tools for personal and professional growth.
Delivering the keynote address, EAC Kelengunuo Solo encouraged students to cultivate leadership qualities and strengthen decision-making skills, particularly in relation to career opportunities and workplace dynamics. She emphasised the role of education and skill enhancement in enabling women to contribute meaningfully across sectors.
The event was attended by the Principal and Vice Principal of Platinum College, along with students. An interactive session was held to motivate participants to pursue their goals with confidence.
To engage attendees, a photo booth was set up at the college campus, capturing moments of empowerment and camaraderie. A similar booth was also arranged at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Niuland, to include working women in the campaign.
The programme reflected the commitment of the District Administration and DHEW Niuland to promote women’s empowerment through inclusive outreach under the Sankalp initiative.
