Department of Social Welfare, Thonoknyu ICDS Projects, organized the Aspirational Block Programme “Sankalp Saptaah” under the theme “Sabki Akanshayein Sabki Vikas” (Everyone’s Aspirations, Everyone’s Development) at Sanglao Village, Thonoknyu HQ, on October 4.
The event commenced with short speeches by prominent figures, including C. Khongo, head Gaon Burha (GB), and S. Puchio, Village Council Chairman (VCC).
A highlight of the day was the “Millet Ki Rang Birangi Thali” recipe competition, which showcased culinary talents and celebrated diversity in food culture. Several other engaging activities, such as Growth Monitoring at Anganwadi Centers (AWCs), the Annaprasana ceremony, Poshan Mela (Nutrition Fair), and the Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Day (VHSND) Anaemia Screening Camp at AWCs, were also conducted.
The program was chaired by Imlong Chaba, Block Coordinator and began with an invocation by pastor Popoi from Sanglao Village. Keynote address was delivered by M. Lakiumong, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), who shed light on the program’s objectives and emphasized the importance of holistic development for all.
In another programme, in line with the Aspirational Block programme initiated by the Prime Minister of India on September 30, 2023, in New Delhi, the “Sankalp Saptaah” activities commenced on October 3 in Akuhaito Aspirational Block under the Atoizu subdivision, Zunheboto district.
The diverse events and fairs, which commenced on October 3 will to run until October 9 encompassing various sectors including health, nutrition, cleanliness, agriculture, education, and livelihood. NITI Aayog served as the nodal department for the Aspirational Block programme.
The primary goals and objectives of the Government of India for this program was aimed at elevating the living standards and enhancing the overall living conditions of people residing in the more underprivileged regions of the state.
