Sao Chang College welcomed its new batch of students during the 52nd Freshers’ Meet held at the college’s Multi-Purpose Hall on Thursday, September 12. The event marked a vibrant beginning for the academic year, celebrating new talent and fostering camaraderie among students.
The highlight of the event was the Mr. & Miss Fresher 2025 contest, a lively and much-anticipated segment of the informal session. Hosted by Mosaba Chang and Sungmokundang, the competition featured three rounds, Traditional, Cosplay, and Formal giving freshers a platform to express their creativity, confidence, and cultural flair. At the end of an exciting contest, Tsulun Hangkam and Changlemla, were crowned Mr. and Miss Fresher 2025. First Runners-up titles went to Chongshen and Supou, while the Mr. & Miss Ramp Walk titles were awarded to Mughapu T. Sumi and Apisa Sangtam.
Earlier, in the formal session, the programme was chaired by Khunou Lam and invocation by president, Evangelical Union, Yongkai, followed by a welcome address by principal Dr. Lanurenla. A special number enlivened the gathering, while Ongbou Lingiu Chang delivered a speech on behalf of the freshers. A solo was presented by Nasenlemla, followed by an address from Nchembeni, general secretary, SCC Students’ Union. The vote of thanks was delivered by social service secretary, SCCSU, Achila, and benediction by assistant professor Hotoni Yeptho.
