The 15th Saramati Soccer Championship 2023 organized by Saramati Nexus Club Pungro culminated on December 16 with Col. W. Khamrang – MSM, commanding officer, Jacob Ramsom Battalion, Naga Army as the valedictory guest.
The colonel in his message acknowledged the gathering and exhorted players to also soar higher and avail opportunities for better improvement of their sports career. He conveyed his solidarity and ushered the gathering to support one another.
Shojiba S, advisor SNC delivered the keynote address and Rev. Fr. Peter Pithungo, Parish priest St. Paul Parish Pungro said the benediction. Dolun chaired the programme and Tsukhenthong, Sotsula and Longhu Hure delivered a special presentation. Toshiba and Lomala also performed at the programme.
Surayin FC emerged champions over Falcon FC and walked away with Rs. 70,000/-, a trophy and citation winning with 3 goals to none. Tsalichem of Surayin FC scored a hattrick of 3 goals and led his team to victory.
The runners up Falcon FC were awarded Rs. 40,000/- with citation. The losing semifinalists Likimro FC and Night Warriors were awarded with Rs. 10,000/- each.
