SASRD, NU gets AICRP on pigs

Department of Animal Production and Management, Nagaland University has notified that Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) New Delhi has allotted one center of All India Coordinated Research Project on Pig (AICRP-Pig) to school of agricultural sciences and rural development, Nagaland University, Medziphema campus.
N Savino, reader and head in a release said Dr K M Bujarbaruah, DDG (animal science), ICAR, New Delhi who is also the former director, ICAR for NEH region, Barapani, Umiam, Meghalaya formally announced this during the launching of the Mega Seed Project on pig held at National Research Center on pig (NRC-Pig), Khanapara, Guwahati on August 14.
Through the release, Dr N Savino also expressed gratitude to DDG (AS), ICAR, New Delhi for granting the center to SASRD, NU and said ‘with this the school will get financial assistance to carry out research studies on pigs.’
Savino further expressed hope that the scientific information generated from the studies would benefit the large pig farming community of Nagaland.
