SASSU against proxy teacher practice

Sitimi Area Sangtam Students’ Union (SASSU) has strongly opposed the practice of proxy teachers and that it will leave no stone unturned on the question of quality education within its jurisdiction.

In a press release, SASSU president, Edward P Sangtam and vice president, Tsipise A Sangtam has appealed town education committee and village education committees not to  entertain any proxy teachers, so as to ensure that quality education was provided at the grassroot level. SASSU further informed teachers that the union will come for inspections anytime and has asked the responsible teachers to be cautious of their duties. Union stated that failing to do so, it would take its own course of action.
